paternity tests for self knowledge

What is the paternity test?

Paternity Testing is a DNA test that determines if a man could be the biological father of a child. We all inherit our DNA (the genetic material) from our biological parents. A paternity test compares a child's DNA pattern to that of the alleged father to analyze evidence of this inheritance, the most definitive proof of a biological relationship.

test guarantee

The result of a paternity test is either an exclusion (the alleged father is not the biological father), or an inclusion (the alleged father is considered the biological father). For a standard paternity test, DDC, our affiliated laboratory, guarantees at least a 99.99% probability of paternity in the case of inclusions or 100% certainty of exclusions.

test confirmation

DDC, our affiliated laboratory, performs each test twice, following the most stringent procedures to ensure accurate and conclusive results.

Result delivery time.

DDC, our affiliated lab, completes tests in 2 business days or less. For transportation purposes from Nicaragua to Ohio, United States, we receive the results in approximately ten business days.

Parties involved in the Test

In a standard paternity test, the participants to be tested include a child, the alleged father, and the mother (called a trio).

The mother's participation in paternity testing helps exclude half of the child's DNA, leaving the other half for comparison with the alleged father's DNA. However, we can perform a paternity test without the mother's involvement (called "mother absent"), which requires additional testing, at no additional charge. The results are equally conclusive whether or not there is the mother's involvement. Absent mother tests are guaranteed at least a 99.9% probability of paternity for inclusions and 100% for exclusions.

We may also test other children or other alleged fathers additionally, if necessary; generating an additional cost for each of the additional participants who undergo  the proof.

Sampling

For sample collection, we routinely use buccal exudate (inner part of the cheek). In Nicaragua, the  Immaculate Conception Clinical Laboratory  is the affiliated laboratory of  DDC for sampling.

We may also test unusual samples when the parent is missing or deceased, based on a viability test performed on the samples. The price is different.
